KCC 2583, 2599/2020
This case involved the refusal of nominations for the parliamentary elections on the grounds of past criminal convictions. Also considered in one case was the validity of the appeal.
Background
A claimant filed a case against the deputy minister of interior and the head of the parliament candidate committee before the court. He requested the court to dismiss a decision by which he was prevented for being nominated in the parliament elections.
The court ruled that the decision should be dismissed.
The defendants appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court dismissed the appealed ruling and the case altogether.
The claimant and the defendants appealed the ruling before the court of cassation.
Decision
