Background

The office of public prosecution accused a defendant of several crimes including the possession of drugs for trading purposes and the possession of firearms without licence among others. The office requested the court to penalize the defendant according to the relevant laws.

The court acquitted the defendant of committing the second and third crimes. The court ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for 10 years and that he should be deported from Kuwait after the ruling execution. The court also ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for two years unless the defendant paid a guarantee of 200 Dinars.

The office and the defendant appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court amended the appealed ruling and acquitted the defendant of committing the first crime. The court ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for four years for committing the second and third crimes. The court said that the consideration of the crimes from the fourth to the last one did not fall under its consideration. The court ruled that the defendant should be deported from Kuwait after the ruling's execution.
