The office of public prosecution accused two defendants of indecent assault of a victim and insulting and beating her. The office requested the court to penalise the defendants according to the relevant laws.

The court ruled that the defendants should be imprisoned for five years each.

The office and the defendants appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court amended the appealed ruling and ruled that the defendants should pay a guarantee of 500 Dinars each. The court dismissed the office’s appeal.

The office appealed the ruling before the court of cassation. The office said in its grounds of appeal that the ruling had erred in the application of law. The office said that the court had refused to announce the punishment for the defendants based on invalid reasons.
