KCC 818/2017

Background

The office of public prosecution accused the first defendant of smuggling alcoholic products for trading purposes. The office accused the second defendant of possessing alcoholic products for trading purposes. The office requested the court penalize the defendants according to the relevant laws.

The court ruled that the first defendant should be imprisoned for ten years. The court ruled that the first defendant should be deported from Kuwait after the ruling execution. The court ruled that the second defendant should be imprisoned for six years.

The defendants appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court upheld the appealed ruling issued against the first defendant. The court amended the appealed ruling issued against the second defendant and ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for two years.,

The defendants and the office appealed the ruling before the court of cassation.
