KCC 295/2017
This case involved an individual who had used force to steal from a victim. A key issue was the validity of the original ruling had it had not been signed correctly by the judges.
Background
The office of public prosecution accused a defendant of stealing from a victim by using force. The office requested the court to penalize the defendant according to the relevant laws.
The court ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for three years and four months. The court ruled that the defendant could pay a guarantee of 500 Dinars for ruling execution to be suspended.
The defendant and the office appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court amended the appealed ruling and ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for four years.
The defendant appealed the ruling before the court of cassation.
