The office of public prosecution accused a defendant of possessing firearms and ammunition without a legal licence. The office requested the court to penalize the defendant according the relevant laws.

The court ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for four years and that he should pay a guarantee of 3000 Dinars for the ruling to be suspended.

The defendant appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court amended the appealed ruling and ruled that the defendant should be imprisoned for one year and eight months and upheld the appealed ruling otherwise.

The defendant appealed the ruling before the court of cassation.
