KCC 233/2016
This case involved an employee who had not been paid their dues on termination. A key issue was it had been claimed the employee had not worked continuously for the employer and the court had ignored the employee's defence.
Background
An employee filed a case against a company before the department of labour disputes settlement. He said that he was working for the company as a driver and that his contract was terminated but the company had failed to pay his entitlements. He requested the company to pay the entitlements. The department referred the case to the court.
The court ruled that the company should pay the employee 2253.583 Dinars.
The company appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court dismissed the appealed ruling and ruled that the company should pay the employee 192.307 Dinars.
