KCC 2/2014

This case involved allowable increases of private school fees. A key issue was whether the situation was different for foreign schools.

Background

The documents of the case revealed that the court had dismissed the appellant's case.

Decision

The court of cassation said that the court hadestablished its ruling on the grounds that the appealed ruling by which the tuition fees of the private school increased by 5% was issued within the mandate of the Ministry of Education according to Kuwait Decision No. 46601/1967. The court said that the mentioned decision was accepted by the students' parents. The court said that the appellant's defence that the foreign schools bore costs above the mentioned increase rate was irrelevant in this regard.

The court dismissed the appeal.
