Freedom of Sppech - Criticising Religion - Publication - Constitutional Right
This case involved the publishing of an article which had criticised Islam and the Quran. The interaction of freedom of speech and the lack against criticising religion was considered.
Background
Two appellants said in their grounds of appeal that the appealed ruling by which they were convicted of permitting and publishing an article that criticized the values of Quran and Islam had erred in the application of law and had insufficient evidence of causation. They said that the ruling lacked the reasons on the grounds of which it was established. They said that the court established its ruling on the grounds of part of the mentioned article.
