Two appellants said in their grounds of appeal that the appealed ruling by which they were convicted of permitting and publishing an article that insulted a public figure had erred in the application of law and had insufficient evidence of causation. They said that they had maintained before the court that the case was previously settled but the court dismissed this defence. They also said that the article did not insult the public figure.
