Appeal – Employee’s Rights – Holiday Pay – Salary – Blood Money – Court – Jurisdiction
The original case involved a claim by an employee for holiday pay, unpaid salary and blood money. The court decided on some of the issues but referred the blood money request to another court because it had no jurisdiction. As the court had settled some issues of the case the employer had the right to file his appeal against the ruling.
Background
An employee filed a case against an employer and requested the court to order the employer to pay him the value of holiday pay and salary plus blood money for a workplace injury.
The court ruled the employer should pay the employee 250 Dinars for the value of a flight ticket and stated it had no mandate to consider the request on the blood money and referred the case to the relevant court.
The employee and the employer appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court rejected the two appeals.
