Personal Injury – Workplace Injury – Compensation – Blood Money – Debt Surrender – Multiple defendants
The original dispute involved a claim for blood money and compensation for a workplace injury. Although the claimant had surrendered their right to receive the debt from the first two defendants, they had not surrendered this right from the third defendant who was still liable.
Background
A claimant filed a case against defendants and requested the court to order the defendants to pay him blood money of 2700 Dinars and temporary compensation of 5001 Dinars for damage which had resulted from their work.
The third defendant filed a case against the first and second defendants and requested the court order them to pay the value of compensation.
The court rejected the case made by the third defendant and ruled the defendants should pay the claimant 5700 Dinars.
The claimant and the third defendant appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court abandoned the appealed ruling and rejected the second case.
