KAT 823/2001

This case involved whether there was a case of forgery and fraud where visas had been forged. It was wrongly claimed the elements of the crime did not exist as the forgeries were easily detected and were not used for travel. However, they had confused people who dealt with them.

Background

An appellant said in his grounds of appeal that the appealed ruling by which he was convicted of fabrication and fraud had erred in the application of law and had insufficient evidence of causation. He said that the elements of the crimes did not exist because the fabricated visas were easily detected. He said that the fabricated visas were not used for travelling.
