The Court of First Instance enforced two arbitration awards issued in London under LMAA rules by a sole arbitrator. Enforcement and recognition of the awards were sought in Fujairah because the opponents assets were based there and the UK and UAE were signatories of the New York Convention. This was the first arbitral award recognised by the UAE courts under the convention.
