This case involved a request by an employee who had resigned that a bonus be paid to him. It was within the rights of the company's board of directors to set the rules for bonuses and promotions.
Background
An employee filed a case against a company and other defendants and requested the court to order the company to pay him 12308.09 Egyptian Pounds. The employee stated he used to work for the company and he resigned on 01/06/1995. The employee stated the company had deprived him of an award in 1994 and 1995. The employee then amended his request and requested the court to dismiss the decisions which deprived employees who had resigned of the award.
The court rejected the case.
Decision
The employee appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court dismissed the decisions and ruled the company should pay the employee the value of award.
