This case involved whether a tenant who had rented a house since 1967 could be granted ownership.
Background
A claimant filed a case against two defendants before the court requesting the ownership of a house. The claimant said that he had moved to another city as a result of the war in 1967 and he rented a house from the second defendant. The claimant said that he met the conditions of the ownership for the house under Article 72 of Egypt Law No. 49/1977 and Egypt Ministerial Decision No. 110/1978.
The court ruled that the ownership of the mentioned house should be transferred to the claimant.
The defendants appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court dismissed the appealed ruling and dismissed the case.
