Employee’s Rights – Seniority – Petition – Evidence - Disciplinary
This case involved an employee's request to have their seniority reinstated. There had been a disciplinary ruling against a number of employees including this one but it had been cancelled. The petition was dismissed because the employee had not proved they had not been aware of the company's decision.
Background
An employee filed a case against a company before the labour court requesting the company to return his seniority to the second grade.
The court ruled that the employee's seniority should be returned to the second grade and the company should pay the employee 140 Egyptian Pounds.
The company appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court dismissed the appealed ruling and dismissed the case.
The employee made a petition for reconsideration. The court dismissed the appealed ruling and upheld the initial ruling.
