This case involved a claim for compensation from defendants who had insulted the claimants and destroyed their house. A key issue was the impact of a criminal ruling on the case. The criminal ruling was not yet final so the civil case should have been stayed.
Background
Two claimants filed a case against defendants before the court of first instance requesting the defendants to pay them 65000 Egyptian Pounds as compensation. The claimants said that the defendants had insulted them and destroyed their house.
The court dismissed the case from the first claimant and ruled that the defendants should pay the second claimant 5099 Egyptian Pounds.
The defendants appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court dismissed the appealed ruling on the dismissal of the case made by the first claimant. The court ruled that the defendants should pay the compensation to the two claimants.
