Nelly v Nick LLC
This case involved a former employee's unpaid salary and dues on termination. A key issue was if the DIFC courts had jurisdiction. The Claimant was hired as an ‘Chief Executive Officer’ with a monthly salary of AED 42,000. On 12 January 2024, the Claimant was served with a termination letter and his last working day was 29 February 2024.
The Claimant stated that he did not receive his salary for December 2023 and January 2024, and other employment entitlements. On 1 February 2024, the Claimant filed a claim in the DIFC Courts’ Small Claims Tribunal claiming AED 291,766 with respect to those various claims.
