Ludhan Bank (Pjsc) v Lione

Background

The Claimant was Ludhan Bank a bank providing financial products and services including personal loans to customers.

The Defendant was Lione, their customer.

The parties entered into a written agreement on 9 September 2014, entitled ‘Ludhan Smart Loan, Credit Card Application Form'. Under the terms of the Agreement, the Claimant received a loan of 254,000 AED on 30 July 2015, to be repaid in 48 monthly installments of 6,195 AED.

The Defendant made regular repayments of the Loan until 25 December 2018, after which he fell into arrears. At the time of filing the Claim, the remaining amount currently outstanding against the Loan was 57,833.27 AED.

The Claimant filed a claim to recover the outstanding sum on 25 February 2020.

The Defendant indicated his intention to defend all of the Claim, but no defence was submitted.
