This case involved a claim for by an employee who had been dismissed for her dues. It was argued she had violated her contract as she had refused to sign a Ministry of Labour contract which modified her existing employment contract. This argument was invalid.
Background
An employee filed a case against a company and requested the court order the company to pay her 229,961 AED and appoint an expert to estimate the commission she should receive. The employee stated she had started working with the company on 02/02/2008 and was dismissed on 02/02/2009. The employee stated the company had refused to pay her dues.
The court ruled that the company should pay the employee 214,067.30 Dirhams and the value of a flight ticket but rejected other requests.
The company appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court upheld the ruling.
