This case involved a claim by a mother for maintenance and housing costs for their children after their divorce and a counter claim by the father that the mother should not be allowed custody as she had remarried and taken the children outside the country.
Background
A Respondent filed action No 617/2008 against the Appellant demanding he pay her the alimony for two and a half years before their divorce and pay child alimony of 5000 AED per month including food, clothing and treatment. She also asked for custody of the children and alimony, and that he pay compensation for a year and her dowry. She also requested a dwelling and rent of 40,000 AED annually and payment of electricity and water plus compensation for custody monthly, and school tuition for the children. In addition, she asked for the papers, documents and passports that belonged to her and her children.
