DCC 85/2005

The original dispute involved a claim for unpaid dues by an employee against their employer. The key issue in this case was court fees. The employer's request had been rejected because it was stated they had not paid the correct fees. The court stated this argument was valid the company should not have been penalised because the appeal document revealed that the company had paid the fees but the court had failed to identify the fee category.

Background

An employee filed a case against a company and requested the court order the company to pay her 71225 AED and the value of a flight ticket. The employee stated she had worked with the company for a year and a half but the company had refused to pay her dues.

The company requested the court to order the employee to pay 7246 AED and annual interest.

The court rejected the company's request.

The court ruled that the company should pay the employee 19069 AED and annual interest of 5% plus the value of a flight ticket.
