DCC 114/2004

This case involved a claim for unpaid dues including a flight ticket by an employee. It was claimed as the employee had resigned the employer should not need to play for a flight ticket. This was incorrect.

Background

An employee filed a case against a company and requested the court to order the company to pay him 615625 AED and annual interest. The employee stated he had started working with the company on 09/07/2000 and was dismissed from his job on 10/10/2002. The employee stated the company had refused to pay his dues.

The company requested the court to order the employee to pay 26581.71 AED and annual interest.

The court ruled that the employee should pay the company 8593.9 AED and 9% annual interest.

The employee appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court abandoned the appealed ruling and ruled the company should pay the employee 10968.61 AED and 9% annual interest plus the cost of a flight ticket.
