BCC 683/2019
This case involved compensation due to a tenant after their landlord had closed the shop they had rented for their business. It was claimed by the landlord the authorities had closed the shop because of employee immigration offences and the tenant had failed to pay the electricity bills. There was no evidence the authorities had closed the shop.
Background
A tenant filed a case against a landlord before the court. She requested the court to order the landlord to pay her 11711 Dinars. She said that she had rented a shop from the landlord to invest in a business but the landlord had closed the shop and caused her damage.
The court ruled that the landlord should pay the tenant 8890 Dinars and interest of 3%.
The landlord appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court upheld the appealed ruling.
