BCC 102/2019
This case involved an employee who had been dismissed after his probation had been illegally renewed.
Background
A claimant filed a case against a company before the office of labour disputes settlement. He requested the company to pay him his entitlements and compensation for dismissal. He said that the company had dismissed him from his job without justifications. The case was referred to the court.
The court ruled that the company should pay the claimant pay in lieu of notice.
The claimant appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court upheld the appealed ruling.
The claimant appealed the ruling before the court of cassation. He said in his grounds of appeal that the ruling had erred in the application of law and had insufficient evidence of causation. He said that the company had dismissed him from his job after renewing his probation period in violation to Article 21 of Bahrain Law No. 36/2012.
