BCC 416/2008

This case involved whether a sale of a property was valid as the defendants had been asked to work as an agent in the sale and it had not been expected that they would purchase the property.

Background

Some employees made a complaint against a company before the Ministry of Labour claiming that they were working at the company and left their jobs because the company had failed to pay their wages. The employees requested the company to pay their entitlements. The Ministry referred the case to the court.

The court ruled that the company should pay the employee their entitlements.

The company appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court dismissed the appealed ruling on the payment of overtime and upheld the appealed ruling on the other points.
