Health Professional – Disciplinary - Hospital – Resignation - Medical License
This case involved a claim by a doctor that he had been illegally struck off by the Health Ministry because he had resigned from a hospital and wanted to work in the private sector. Correct procedures had not been followed in terms of disciplinary action and the cancelling of the license.
Background
A doctor filed a case before the Supreme Court against the Health Ministry requesting a judgment to stop the minister's illegal decision which had banned him from practising medicine for three years because he had resigned from working at the Sulaymaniyah Hospital and tried to get a permit to work in the Private International Bahrain Hospital.
The Court rejected the case. The plaintiff filed an appeal and the Court of Appeal dismissed the ruling.
