This case involved a claim for compensation for an insult. It was argued that the individual had been convicted under a provision which did not exist in the criminal court. This was irrelevant as the criminal court decision had gained legal authority and could not be reconsidered.
Background
A claimant filed a case against a defendant before the court requesting the defendant pay him 3000 Dinars as compensation for an insult at work. The claimant said that a criminal ruling had already been issued against the defendant.
The court ruled that the defendant should pay the claimant the estimated compensation.
The defendant appealed the ruling before the court of appeal. The court amended the appealed ruling and decreased the value of the compensation to 200 Dinars.
