Biography

Amr Reda Abdullatif is a Regional Legal Counsel at Hassan Allam Holding and a prominent figure in the MENA legal sector, specialising in construction law, cross-border infrastructure, and corporate compliance. With a focus on the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, Amr advises on high-stakes Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, FIDIC-based agreements, and complex dispute avoidance mechanisms.

Amr has played a pivotal role in delivering legal frameworks for some of the region's most transformative projects. His recent achievements include negotiating and executing Design & Build contracts for the Hafeet Rail project, where he successfully mitigated risk through enhanced indemnity and performance-security provisions. He was instrumental in formulating specialised contracts for the high-speed electric train project connecting Oman and the UAE, harmonising legal provisions across jurisdictions to ensure seamless execution and regulatory compliance. Additionally, Amr has spearheaded legal due diligence and corporate governance structuring for offshore entities, including "Hassan Allam Electromechanical – Kortech Saudi".

A committed advocate for the arbitration community, Amr serves as the LCIA YIAG Regional Arbitrator Representative for the Middle East (London Court of International Arbitration). In this capacity, he fosters connections among young practitioners and collaborates with YIAG Co-Chairs to promote arbitration initiatives across the region. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb).

Amr is an active contributor to legal scholarship and industry analysis. As a Contributing Author for LexisNexis Middle East, he provides expert insights on regulatory developments and commercial law trends. He has also expanded his editorial footprint as the Editorial Director for The Legal Industry Reviews - Egypt, shaping discourse on the region's evolving legal landscape. Previously, he served as a Legal Researcher and Journalist for LC Publishing Group, authoring articles for publications such as Iberian Lawyer and Legalcommunity Week.

Amr combines strong academic foundations with specialised international training. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Trade Law and Private Law

Significantly, Amr completed the Corporate & Commercial Law program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This comprehensive coursework deepened his expertise in Contracts & Employment Law, Debtor-Creditor Relationships, Agency Law, Business Law, and Government Regulation, providing him with a robust understanding of international business law principles. His credentials also include specialised certifications in Dispute Boards and Arbitration from the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC).
