Akef Khoury serves as Head of Legal & Governance and is a board advisor with more than 15 years of experience leading M&A, Banking and Finance, corporate governance, and regulatory strategy across the GCC, Africa, and emerging markets.

Akef operates at the intersection of law, strategy, and institutional oversight within multibillion-dollar global enterprises. At ETG, Akef provides strategic counsel to executive leadership and institutional stakeholders, strengthening governance frameworks, mitigating enterprise risk, and aligning complex shareholder structures with long-term growth objectives. He is particularly skilled at bridging founder-led dynamics with private equity and DFI-backed institutional standards, ensuring scalable and investment-ready operating models.

Akef has been based in the GCC since 2015, and his transaction experience spans multi-billion-dollar cross-border M&A, capital raising, and corporate restructurings across more than 40 jurisdictions. With deep geopolitical awareness, he advises on regulatory navigation in high-complexity markets, safeguarding operational continuity across global supply chains and infrastructure platforms.

Trained at Harvard Business School to think beyond functional legal silos, Akef brings a P&L-oriented, enterprise-wide lens to governance and business architecture. He holds an LL.M. in Banking and Finance from City, University of London and is admitted to the Beirut Bar Association.
